My work often deals with the relationship between culture, family, and oneself--with a focus on women. Through the use of dynamic, expressive brushstrokes, organic forms, and a wide range of color my work aims to create lively portraiture of subjects both human and not. The colors and strokes are instinctive and gestural and bring life to subject(s) and their story. Color and pattern are used to both evoke the identity of people and relationships and often highlights cultural heritage. Many of my works focus on the experience and beauty of women. Much of my work references photography and manifests in a variety of mediums:  acrylic, oil, ceramic, and sculptural.
